WWE referee Shawn Bennett has come out as gay
WWE referee Shawn Bennett has openly come out as gay on the National Coming Out Day. Bennett opened up on how he hid his sexuality for years before finally coming out as gay in front of the public.
The referee took to Twitter where he announced his sexuality to the world and said:
“Happy National Coming Out Day! Oh yea, I’m gay. Check @refbennett on Instagram for a much more thorough caption. It would mean a lot to me. Representation is important. Always face your fears. Always chase your dreams. Above all, always be yourself. It’s worth it.”
It is revealed that Bennett came out in front of his friends and family back in his 20s and that was his first step in not hiding his sexuality anymore. He has taken a major step and is going public with coming out. He received a lot of lovely messages from the WWE stars and the fans as well.
How did the WWE Superstars react to this news?
He has been with the WWE since April 2013 and has become one of the most known referees in the company. As one would expect Bennett got positive responses from the roster of WWE and many stars reacted to the news by showcasing their love for him.
