Sheamus mocks Mansoor after battle on WWE Raw
Taking to social media, WWE United States Champion Sheamus has hit out at Mansoor after defeating him on Monday Night Raw.
Sheamus became the United States Champion at WrestleMania 37 by defeating Riddle in an hard-hitting bout. Since being crowned the champion, the Celtic Warrior has been issuing open challenges on Raw for his title.
Over the past couple of weeks, we saw Humberto Carrillo step up to Sheamus only to finish on the receiving end of a beating. However, the high-flying Carrillo was set for another shot at the Irish Brawler on Monday night when he was attacked backstage by the champ, taking him out of the equation.
This proceeded to set up a match for Mansoor, who was making his debut on WWE Raw, with a huge 49-match unbeaten streak.
However, Mansoor’s streak, which was something that WWE refrained from mentioning or hyping up, came to its demise on Raw. Sheamus, who had been dominating the rookie during their bout, went on to pick up the win, albeit via a DQ, after he was jumped by the vengeance-seeking Carrillo.
Following the win, Sheamus took to social media to taunt Mansoor over ending his unbeaten WWE streak.
Hailing from Riyadh, the 25-year-old has been a regular feature on WWE’s shows in Saudi Arabia. Indeed, Mansoor came out on top of a 51-man Battle Royal at the Super ShowDown in 2019. He also defeated Cesaro in Riyadh during 2019’s Crown Jewel before getting one over Dolph Ziggler in 2020’s Super ShowDown.
Up until Monday night, Mansoor was bound to WWE’s 205 Live while he was a regular feature on Main Event as well.
While he showed some good moves against Sheamus on Raw, it ended up being a largely forgettable experience for the debutant. It will be interesting to see what WWE have in store for Mansoor next.
