David Krumholtz and Gillberg appeared on WWE RAW this week

Drew McIntyre had Covid-19 and could not appear on RAW this week. But no bother; the promotion instead had David Krumholtz take his place, while Gillberg took Goldberg’s place.

Duane Gill, AKA Gillberg, got his moniker in 1998 after he won the light heavyweight championship against Christian on RAW. The name ‘Gillberg’ was a ploy to mock the then-WCW wrestler, Goldberg.

The gimmick featured a mockery of many of Goldberg’s wrestling persona. It ranged from his entrance down to his wrestling attire inside the ring.

Gillberg also gained prominence in 2003 when his Gillberg gimmick was revived by The Rock on WWE. And now, fans got another taste of the much-loved Gillberg.

John Morrison and The Miz promised to have Goldberg on this week’s segment of The Dirt Sheet. Goldberg’s entrance theme played, but out came Gillberg, much to the surprise of the WWE Universe.

Opposite of Gillberg was Drew McInfart, which presumably was famous Hollywood actor David Krumholtz.

The two had a brilliant verbal segment inside the ring and actually made for a better viewing than fans would have expected from the two wrestlers that were being mocked inside the ring.

After the show, Sheamus posted a picture with Gillberg and McInfart. He is pictured between the two, trying to separate the two from each other.

It was a wonderfully played out segment in the show and it was especially great seeing Gillberg return to action inside the ring after he recently recovered from a heart attack,

McIntyre and Goldberg are, of course, still scheduled to fight for the heavyweight title at the Rumble in less than two weeks.
