Edge made his appearance on SmackDown this week as he decides who he will take on at WrestleMania 37

WWE SmackDown saw Edge make his appearance this week as he decides who he will challenge at WrestleMania 37 for the belt.

The Rated R superstar won the Royal Rumble 2021 to get the luxury of picking an opponent of his choice at the grandest stage of professional wrestling.

Edge was spotted talking to Shinsuke Nakamura backstage during the episode. This sparked rumours if he would be willing to take on the Japanese in the future.

And Nakamura responded to those talks on his Twitter account pretty promptly. WWE on FOX posted that the WWE Universe would be in favour of watching Nakamura vs Edge.

The former NXT champion replied by saying “Yes please”.

This would certainly be a match that no one would have expected Edge to take part in. But, this wasn’t the theme of the show on the night.

Edge squared off with Roman Reigns on SmackDown

Edge met Roman Reigns inside the ring later on where Reigns was desperate for the Rumble winner to choose him as his opponent. The entire episode had the Tribal Chief worried as to why Edge is taking so long with his decision.

And just as talks were about to reach some sort of a conclusion, Kevin Owens appeared to floor the Big Dog with a Stunner.

Now this is just lazy writing. Owens vs Reigns has been done to death and it is highly unlikely that fans would want to see more of that.

It could, obviously, just be a way to postpone Edge’s decision and extract whatever juice that is left in that storyline.

Nevertheless, it is clear that we would have to wait for a little while before Edge takes his decision and decides his opponent at WrestleMania 37.
