The former WWE champion was involved in a tussle outside the ring with Ridge Holland. Ridge went for a belly-to-belly suplex on Big E. The New Day member, unfortunately, couldn’t rotate fully to his back.
The landing looked painful from the get-go as the top part of Big E’s head hit the floor first. Big E was stretchered backstage during an ad break and rushed to a medical facility soon after.
The former University of Iowa football player is one of the most lovable superstars in WWE. Everyone was concerned about his well-being. The multiple-time tag team champion later posted an update about his injury.
There were a lot of speculations about Big E’s injury and everyone was anxious about how the big man was doing. Finally, we got the update from the horse’s mouth.
Big E posted a 31-second video on his Twitter handle. He started by thanking all his well-wishers addressing them as “beautiful people” and said he could move all his digits.
“I can’t thank all of you beautiful people enough for your concern and your messages, it’s very heartwarming,” he says in the video.
“I can move all of my digits, that’s always a good thing, strength feels fine.
He said his strength is fine but the problem is that according to the doctors he has a broken neck. He once again assured his fans that he is fine.
“But unfortunately, right now they tell me my neck is broken, so there’s that.
“But once again, thank you, everybody, I’ll be good, don’t worry, go to sleep, don’t worry about ‘ol me, but for real, thank you. I appreciate all of you, for real.”
The landing was quite difficult to watch but it’s heartwarming to see Big E at his jovial best albeit wearing a neck brace. We wish him a speedy recovery.
