WWE SmackDown ratings: WWE SmackDown is the flagship show for the promotion when it comes to viewers and ratings.
SmackDown has often crossed the 2million viewership mark, despite being a two hour show. It has consistently beaten Raw, which is a three hour show, and things are improving for the Blue brand.
This week saw a huge boost in the ratings and that could have been due to some leaks regarding the results of the show.
The leak confirmed that Big E would win the Intercontinental title from Sami Zayn after a Lumberjack match.
Further, the leak also added that Charlotte Flair and Asuka would defend their titles against two teams on SmackDown.
The other big match this week was Roman Reigns facing off against Kevin Owens in a steel cage match.
Roman Reigns beats Kevin Owens
Charlotte and Asuka beat Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks, Carmella and Bayley
Daniel Bryan beats Jey Uso
Big E beats Sami Zayn
This week’s show brought in an incredible 3.336m viewers on average over the two hours. There are a couple of reasons why the number was this high. This was also the highest ratings since premiering on Fox and SmackDown was brought on after the end of the NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints.
The first hour got in 4.097m viewers while the second one tapered down to 2.574m. The 18-49 demographic also got in some great numbers with 0.95.
Hour one saw 1.1 rating in that special demo while the second one got in 0.8. These are some incredible numbers and it could have gone up thanks to the NFL game and also the leaks regarding E winning the title.
SmackDown has consistently done well since the Reigns turning heel bit, and it will be interesting to see the ratings numbers next week.
