Sonya Deville could make possible in-ring return at Money in the Bank
According to reports, SmackDown authority figure Sonya Deville is expected to make her in-ring return at Money in the Bank, this Sunday.
Deville has been out of action since her ‘Loser Leaves WWE‘ match against Mandy Rose at SummerSlam 2020. Since then, she has been engrossed in personal issues after a stalking incident was discovered.
There is still one spot left vacant for the Money in the Bank ladder match, and there is a possibility of Deville returning as soon as Sunday.
She has been seen training heavily over the last few months. She is waiting to make her return after almost a year. According to Wrestling Inc there has been a “significant push” to put Deville in the ladder match, and was “penciled in” to be part of it.
The expectation is that Deville will be back in the ring “soon,” after executives wanted her to arrive during the WrestleMania 37 timeline.
The four contenders from RAW are Asuka, Naomi, Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss. They will be joined by Liv Morgan, Zelina Vega and Natalya.
In August 2020, a man was found trying to kidnap WWE star Sonya Deville with a knife in one hand and a can of mace. This was detected after her alarm was activated.
The official statement read: “The defendant remained inside the residence, as he believed the victims were hiding upstairs and he was waiting for them to come downstairs.”
The stalker was deemed unfit for trial by a judge, after he was caught red-handed by the police. He drove more than 450 miles to try and abduct the Superstar, but failed.
He is transferred to a medical facility, after being held without bail on stalking, burglary and armed kidnapping charges.
