WWE Star Mia Yim elated after Io Shirai return
“The HBIC” Mia Yim was glad to see the return of Io Shirai on WWE NXT after weeks of absence.
Io Shirai made her long awaited return after her WrestleMania 37 loss to Raquel Gonzalez. She returned after a segment where Grammy Award nominee Poppy came to the ring.
She was confronted by Candice LeRae. The NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion had words of advice for Poppy and didn’t take a liking to her.
Poppy then finally dropped the bomb by announcing a wrestler who could take LeRae down. In came Io Shirai, after a rest from a 300 day reign as a Tag Team Champion.
Shirai has been one of the most dominant champions in NXT history. The segment ended with her running into her successor, Raquel Gonzalez. Shirai is owed a rematch for the title and also could be part of the storyline with LeRae.
The Japanese has been on the circuit for almost 14 years now, she will be looking for a move to the main roster soon.
She was brought to NXT in 2018, after becoming a signee at WWE Live in Tokyo. She is also the top women’s wrestler three years in a row according to Tokyo Sports. Shirai, has proven to be one of the best in WWE with a dominant title reign.
Shirai has one of the best skillsets in WWE, who models Rey Mysterio in her relatively young career. She reached the final of the 2018 Mae Young Classic, where she lost in the final.
