AEW puts out an emotional tribute show for Brodie Lee on this week’s Dynamite
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) put together one of the most emotional tribute shows in wrestling history on this week’s episode in honour of Brodie Lee.
AEW employed Brodie Lee (AKA Jon Huber) at the time of his death on 26th December. AEW President Tony Khan announced earlier that this week’s Dynamite (30th December) would be a tribute show in Lee’s honour.
The show, titled “Brodie Lee Celebration of Life” was put together to honour the legacy of Huber and pay tribute to his loving family which includes his wife Amanda Huber, and sons Nolan & Bordie Lee Jr.
The episode started off by Jim Ross saying “It’s Wednesday. You know what that means” as an ode to Lee’s Twitter gimmick. The match card was put together by Brodie Lee’s 8-year-old son, Brodie Lee Jr.
The show featured a string of videos by friends and co-wrestlers that shared their thoughts and memories with Lee.
WWE stars unite to praise AEW for the tribute show to Brodie Lee on Dynamite
Amongst those were Darby Allin and Jon Moxley, both of whom shared their thoughts in an emotional video message.
In addition that, Lee’s (AKA Luke Harper in WWE) former teammate Erick Rowan came out with a sign that read “Goodbye for now brother, see you down the road”.
Ever since the 41-year-old passed on December 26th due to a lung problem, the wrestling has been united in honouring his legacy and supporting his family.
This week’s Dynamite episode was also no place for rivalry. Wrestlers kept their allegiances aside to watch the 2-hour special on Wednesday.
Many WWE stars took to social media to praise AEW for their highly emotional tribute show for the late wrestler.
