Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte were some of the stars responsible for the women’s evolution as Stephanie McMahon brought them out
WWE have turned the women’s division around thanks to Stephanie McMahon and a few stars. In July 2015, three women were brought up from NXT and changed the landscape of WWE forever.
While women weren’t given the same position as men in WWE, things started to change on NXT. Most of the female stars in the division were fantastic workers in the ring and had great microphone skills too.
They weren’t just pretty, they were also brilliant in terms of wrestling ability. McMahon brought three of these stars out in 2015 as they challenged the Bellas and Alicia Fox. The first two were Becky Lynch and Charlotte while Sasha Banks teamed up with Naomi and Tamina.
That was a while back and the trio have all won several titles over the years. They have also ensured that WWE feature an all-women’s PPV and they have also headlined WrestleMania.
On the anniversary of this special day, McMahon shared a backstage clip from that incredible day. Charlotte and Banks seem to be extremely emotional with tears in their eyes while Lynch couldn’t believe what was happening.
The trio got standing ovations as they shared a glimpse of what was to come, and McMahon added that they earned all that they got from the fans but have to keep putting in the performances.

The best continue to impress
Cut to five years in the future and it is safe to say that the women wrestlers are capable of matching the men in every aspect in the ring.
Many other female stars have transitioned from NXT onto the main brands. Asuka and Bayley are two of the biggest examples of such moves.
Of course, Bayley was part of the same group that featured Banks, Lynch and Charlotte. We now have the likes of Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai on NXT looking to make the next move while Bianca Belair only recently joined Raw from NXT.
It was emotional for the women in 2015 but things have changed drastically in the following years. The women are actual draws in the promotion, and they have put on some of the best matches in WWE history over the past five years.
