Charlotte hits out Rhea Ripley after being attacked on NXT
WWE NXT Champion Charlotte Flair has lashed out at Rhea Ripley after being attacked on Wednesday night.
Charlotte and Ripley have been indulged in a heated rivalry since the Queen won the Royal Rumble earlier this year. Having challenged the NXT superstar for the Championship, the veteran defeated Ripley at WrestleMania 36 to get her hands on the gold.
On Wednesday, Charlotte was involved in a bout against Io Shirai for the NXT Championship. The Queen was pushed to the limits by Shirai, leading to the former beating her challenger up with a Kendo stick.
This resulted in a DQ win for Shirai, but the title remained with Charlotte. As the Queen continued to attack her challenger, Ripley rushed out to the rescue, fighting off the champion.
Post the match, Charlotte took to Twitter to issue a warning to all her future challengers that they will get the title only when she decides she is done with it and not before that.
Replying to the tweet, Ripley called Charlotte a spoilt brat. Not one to take it lying down, the Queen hit back at the up and coming superstar with another tweet.
Charlotte mocked Ripley by claiming that she was still having ‘nightmares’ from her defeat at WrestleMania last month, in reference to her nickname.
Then, she went on to say that her time at the top was over and said she would have plenty of time to reflect on her mistakes at the back of the line.
This is an interesting development as Ripley never got a rematch after losing the Championship to Charlotte last month.
Furthermore, Shirai’s angry reaction to the Nightmare coming to her rescue also adds more intrigue to things, with a triple-threat match likely to be in the pipeline in the coming weeks.
