Stone Cold Steve Austin predicts how match against delusional CM Punk would go

CM Punk seemed confident of getting a quick win over Stone Cold Steve Austin

There is no debating how great Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk were in their WWE days.

While Austin was one of the greatest stars during the 90s and made himself something of an icon with his matches and rivalry with Vince McMahon, Punk had a different story to tell.

The Straight Edged star came into the WWE a little late and wasn’t in the promotion as long as Austin was. However, he also had his fair share of excellent matches and is considered as one of the best modern-day workers in the business.

While Austin had retired a while back and now holds excellent podcasts, Punk has hinted at possibly making a return here and there.

Punk vs Austin would be something of a dream match but both stars had different takes on how it would go.

Punk had earlier suggested that Austin would be done in three seconds thanks to the Go To Sleep. However, Austin had a more elaborate plan to take on the delusional Punk:

“I see. @CMPunk You did say that. Damn.

“Complete delusion. I had us at a 60 minute time limit match at the Rosemont Horizon. Right there in Chicago. Chi Town. The Windy City. Helluva match.

“Caught you with a Stunner at 59:56. You did not kick out.

“Bottom line.”

CM Punk could still do a job in the business

Austin making a return seems unlikely but he has made fleeting appearances here and there. He was present to almost hand down the torch to Becky Lynch before the Lasskicker took a hiatus as she started a family with Seth Rollins.

As for Punk, he has tried his hand at other projects and even dabbled in MMA for a while. That didn’t work out and he was on WWE Backstage for Fox. Punk is still in decent shape and could more than do a job in the ring.

However, it seems to be unlikely the pair will meet in a proper match anytime soon.
