WWE is targeting its Indian fans with Superstar Spectacle set to be launched soon
Sony Sports Network India and WWE have combined to have a special for India called Superstar Spectacle.
It was confirmed that something special was in the works for India at the end of 2020. However, no details were present at that time. What Culture adds that WWE were keen to bring in an NXT style show to the Asian country.
It was expected to be a one or two night event, something similar to a British show that was done in 2017.
WWE has now pushed forward its plans for Superstar Spectacle and it is planned to take place on one of the biggest days for the country.
The special WWE show seems set to take place on January 26. This is Republic Day for India and is a national holiday in the country.
A lot of promos being aired confirmed the date to be 26 January, but there are no details of what the show could be about.
It could be a one night event or maybe something grander like NXT UK has become. The Indian market is a huge one for WWE and recently, the WWE Network teamed up with Sony.
The Sony Liv app now has exclusive content from the WWE Network and many fans predicted what this Superstar Spectacle could be:
Some of the responses were about Jinder Mahal too. The former WWE Champion has been out of action for a while and this could be a great chance for him to return.
However, Mahal is Canadian and WWE does have a lot of talent from Indian shores who are yet to make a big mark in the company.
More details will be shared later on by WWE but these are interesting times for India and WWE.
