Kurt Angle reacts to US wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock winning a gold medal at Tokyo Olympics
WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has showered praises on Tamyra Mensah-Stock after she became the first American Black Woman in history to win Gold in wrestling at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Angle posted on Twitter after history was created by Stock at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. His caption read: “Congrats to Tamyra Mensah-Stock on being the first American Black Woman in history to win Olympic Gold in wrestling!!! Awesome!!!!!”
The top-seeded Mensah-Stock defeated second-seed Blessing Oborududu 4-1 after winning points with two takedowns. Stock stuck to her gameplan as she outperformed the Nigerian throughout the contest.
Oborududu became the first Nigerian athlete to win an Olympic medal in wrestling. Stock, meanwhile was elated with her Gold medal creating a legacy back in the United States.

“I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, look at us representing. It’s so freaking awesome. You’re making history, I’m making history. We’re making history. So it meant a lot.”
“I’m feeling very happy and I keep trying not to cry, but it keeps happening. I just want to go into a dark room and cry, but I’m crying from joy.”
The American beat Rio 2016 champion Sara Dosho of Japan and Ukraine’s 2018 world champion Alla Cherkasova in the tournament.
Kurt Angle – An Olympic Gold Medalist
Angle has also seen the glory of winning a Gold medal for the United States. Angle won the freestyle wrestling gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics. The Olympics was held in the United States, as they dominated across various sports in the two-week event.
He is also a 1995 world champion and six-time U.S. national champion freestyle wrestler. The 12-time world heavyweight champion has won everything there is in his time on TNA and WWE. In 2017, Angle was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
