Rey and Dominik Mysterio teamed up to face the team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode this week on RAW.
Rey Mysterio‘s mask carries a lot of history and heritage. This is not the first time Rey’s masked has been pulled off. Superstars like Kane, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Eddie Guerrero, and many more had unmasked Rey in the past. Most of the time he had memorable feuds during or after that incident.
Rey Mysterio beat The Miz at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view last month. After the loss, The Miz stated that he was distracted due to Dominik’s constant interferences in the match. He said he would call a partner who is as awesome as him to even the odds against the Mysterios.
The A-lister revealed his partner to be Logan Paul three weeks ago on RAW. Since then, The Miz and Paul have executed sneak attacks on the father-son duo regularly. Last week, however, on RAW, the Mysterios managed to thwart the attacks from Paul and Miz.
This week after Dominik delivered a frog splash on Roode and won the match for his team, he was taken out by Ziggler. Rey chased him outside the ring when The Miz, who was on commentary blind-sighted Rey. He pushed Rey into the ring apron and delivered a Skull Crushing Finale. The 41-year-old didn’t stop there as he ripped off Mysterio’s mask and left showing it off to the fans in the Allstate Arena.
“This is all yours” – The Miz says he pulled off Rey’s mask to give it to Logan Paul
The Miz pulling off Rey’s mask has received some flak on social media. WWE’s purpose is served though, as it incorporates more animosity in the rivalry.
The Miz gave a backstage interview with Kevin Patrick holding Rey’s mask in his hand. He was asked to explain his action to which the former WWE Champion revealed that he did it for Logan Paul.
The Miz explained that Paul was a Rey Mysterio fan while growing up. He wanted to gift something to his tag team partner ahead of their match at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
The “Must-see Superstar” challenged Paul to wear the mask when he appears on RAW next week.
