Rumored match of The Rock vs Roman Reigns is officially off for WrestleMania 38
The Rock has been the subject of a lot of speculations recently about his future at the WWE. One of those speculations were that the People’s champ will return to the WWE at WrestleMania 38 to take on Roman Reigns. Although it was one of the most requested matches recently, it was never in the plans of the company.
Recently, The Rock himself calmed down all the rumors surrounding this match up. He recently sat down with Andrew Freund of the Dish Nation and cleared the air when he said:
“I can tell you, there is no truth to that right now. Possibly down the road, we will see. We stay very close, myself and Roman Reigns, and I’m very happy and very proud with the work he is doing as well as The Usos, my other family members. Those guys will continue to do what they’re doing and we’ll see down the road.”
The Rock made it known that the match is definitely not in the works right now. He stated that he his happy of what his family members, i.e. Reigns, Usos and others are doing in the company.
This is certainly disappointing for the fans who were eagerly waiting to see the two cousins go at it at the biggest stage of them all, WrestleMania.
WWE are celebrating the Rock’s 25 year anniversary at the company with celebrating the Rock month throughout November. His return at the Survivor Series was reported earlier as WWE planned to honor him on the show he made his debut in.
However, the Rock looks set to miss out on Survivor Series as he will not be in the country at that time. The WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor has prior commitments to take care off at the moment.
