WWE is planning a return of The Rock after SummerSlam in August
Former WWE Champion The Rock is set to make his long awaited return at Survivor Series this year, after SummerSlam in August.
As per Andrew Zarian, The Rock is expected to return to WWE at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. The plan for The Rock is to feud with his cousin Roman Reigns in 2022 at WrestleMania 38.
He continues saying: (h/t Wrestling Inc)
“By the way, Rock vs Roman, that is what is soft on paper for the main event in Dallas. I mean, Dallas, 100,000 people, you need the freaking Rock,” said Andrew Zarian.
The Rock has been missing from WWE for a while and a return this year is definitely on the cards. Reigns, on the other hand is the face of WWE currently and has mastered his character as a heel. He looks unstoppable and will be ready for The Rock more than ever.
There are also reports of a tag team match involving The Usos and the pair in a family affair. The plans haven’t been finalised , but will be closer to reality next year.
Will Reigns continue to dominate in 2021?
Reigns has continued his streak of 2020 into this year as he looks unstoppable. His match with Edge at Money in the Bank showed that he can come out on top even after being taken to the limit. His opponent at SummerSlam, however, John Cena has returned and is out to create history.
With their rivalry, there is no guarantee of who the winner will be come August, but it is certain that Reigns will be the favourite going into the fight. He has overcome Daniel Bryan and Edge in a thrilling main event at WrestleMania 37 and has not looked back since. It is impossible to predict who will end the reign of The Head of the Table.
