The legendary Rock‘s daughter Simone Johnson had been training at the WWE Performance Center for quite some time and now she has received her new in-ring name.
Simone Johnson will be known as Ava Raine from now on in WWE. The Stamford-based company filed to trademark “Ava Raine” on May 13.
She signed with WWE in February 2020 and is yet to make her debut on the NXT brand. However, after getting her new ring name, it can be expected that the Brahma Bull’s daughter might be soon featured in WWE’s developmental brand.
Fans had expected Simone to make her debut in the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament where many promising newcomers made an impression. Santino Marella’s daughter Bianca Carelli also took part in the tournament under her new in-ring name Arianna Grace. Johnson though has had to wait longer to make her debut. Fans are waiting in excitement to find out what the newest wrestler from the Anoa’i family brings to the table.
Simone Johnson replies to the negative tweets after getting her new in-ring name
The 20-year-old Simone Johnson changed her Twitter account name on Sunday. She has been quite active in giving fitting replies to the negative reactors.
“i probably sound like a broken record & hopefully this is the last i’ll mention this but i don’t understand why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a heated topic.
a name doesn’t discredit any prior accomplishments from any family”, she wrote on Twitter.
Quote retweeting her previous tweet, Johnson wrote: “i could build my entire career around my father & people would still bash me anyway”
While fans have different opinions regarding Johnson not having an in-ring name related to The Rock, they are surely waiting with bated breath to watch the young lady in action.
