WWE Legend The Undertaker will headline the Hall of Fame Class of 2022
Wrestlemania 38 will be finally witness, the legend Undertaker headlining the 2022 Hall of Fame class. World Wrestling Entertainment confirmed on Friday that the ‘Dead Man’ is the first inductee in this year’s Hall of Fame.
The 56-year old is a multi-time WWE and world heavyweight champion, a seven-time tag-team titleholder, and a Royal Rumble winner(2007). He also maintained an undefeated streak of wins at Wrestlemania. The former wrestler won 21 consecutive matches at the marquee event, starting from Wrestlemania VII in 1991 till Wrestlemania 30 unfortunately where he lost to Brock Lesnar. He maintained an astonishing feat of 21-0 wins by defeating the likes of Kane, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Triple H, and CM Punk.
The Undertaker’s illustrious career
Debuting at the 1990 Survivor Series event as the mystery partner in Ted DiBiase’s Million DollarTeam, he became the owner of pro-wrestling’s greatest gimmick. The Undertaker was part of some of history’s greatest wrestling matches. His match against Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25. The iconic Hell in a Cell match with Mankind (Mick Foley) at King of the Ring in 1998 or the boneyard match against AJ Styles. The Dead Man wrestled a total of 993 matches in WWE, according to profightdb.com.
While Speaking to the Post in 2020, Triple H said, “I love the traditional, not back to the beginning where he was just slow and plotting, but somewhere in that late 90s version of the Undertaker who could go with anyone at the highest of levels but still had enough of that character in him where you could do the Shakespeare so to speak“. His Hall of Fame induction made the netizens emotional.
The phenom ended his fantastic Wrestlemania note with a classical cinematic match at Wrestlemania 36 against legend AJ Styles, which was well received by the critics. The veteran ended his career at Survivor Series 2020, the same event where he started 30 years ago. The man left behind a legacy that anybody could ever match.
