Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson reacts on Twitter about the Most Important Match in WWE ever
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson voiced his opinion for the Most Important WWE match of all time on Twitter.
Responding to one of the tweets from WWE about the most important fight in the history of the business, he said:
“Hogan vs Sheik. NYC. Garden. 1984. (seminal match with historic implications and a legit bounty thrown in the mix).”
Hogan was the challenger to Sheik’s WWF belt. The match at Madison Garden is considered to be one of the many iconic matches to ever take place in WWE. Hogan is an inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
The match crowned Hulk Hogan as the WWF Champion for the first time. He went on to hold the gold for 1,400 days and became an icon of the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Era. During the fight, Hogan did the unthinkable by escaping the devastating camel clutch of Sheik.
The Rock is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and made his name after years in WWE. He is the most followed sportsman on Instagram with close to 245 million followers. The Electrifying One has also featured in one of the greatest feud during the Attitude Era with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.
The Rock is reportedly in plans with WWE to return to the company this year. His last appearance was on SmackDown in 2019, where he delivered a ‘RockBottom’ to Baron Corbin, alongside Becky Lynch.
There are multiple rumours of a fight with his cousin, Roman Reigns at the biggest stage. WrestleMania has seen both stars in the main-event. It will be optimistic that The Great One returns to WWE to challenge the face to the company, Roman Reigns.
Reigns is the WWE Universal Champion and has been on a rampant streak ever since his reign began.
