Liv Morgan, Shotzi Blackheart and others react as WWE Superstar Toni Storm exit from WWE
Toni Storm left WWE just days after challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, which she apparently lost. The Fans were hoping for a rematch at WWE Day 1, but it seems like that is not supposed to happen anytime soon.
Since the news breakout, many superstars have paid tribute to Storm on social media from both the prominent promotions, WWE and AEW.
Former tag team partner Shortzi Blackheart released a few months back and reacted to Twitter. The stable of Shortzi and Toni showed some good potential as they defeated the then Raw Tag Team Champions.
“Toni Storm is the whole package! ABSOLUTELY BADASSSSS!!!”
Toni’s exit will come as a surprise to the fans as she had been heavily featured on SmackDown in recent weeks and successfully defeated the SmackDown Women’s Champion in some tag team option.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful took to Twitter and reported her release for the first time. He mentioned that Storm requested her own departure from the company.
“Those that I spoke to within WWE believe Toni Storm asked for her release from the company, though I’m also making an effort to reach out to those close to her. The memo that went out did not list budget cuts as the reason, as has been the tradition of late.”
According to the latest update from PWInsider, Storm flew herself home on Wednesday morning from Baltimore. The triple threat match went excellent, which suggest that nothing occurred during that time, which forced her to ask for release.
Storm even paid for the flight tickets from her own money back home and actually called it quits.
