Tommaso Ciampa’s last match on WWE’s developmental brand is all set to happen at the NXT Stand and Deliver

Tommaso Ciampa cut a heartfelt promo this week on NXT 2.0. He entered the ring and sat on the top rope as the fans continued chanting for the former two-time NXT champion.

Ciampa reminisced how he always wanted to call a place his home during his independent circuit days. He said he has been in professional wrestling for 17 years and finally, he found his home on NXT in WWE. The 36-year-old called WWE “the largest company on the planet” and shared his gratitude.

The former NXT Tag Team champion shared that his road to success wasn’t easy but he persisted and thanked the fans for their never-ending support. The crowd got emotional and chanted “Thank you Ciampa” and “Please don’t go“. Ciampa continued saying that he always wanted a fairytale ending to his 7-year career at NXT from the black and gold to 2.0. He mentioned that the story would have had a perfect fairytale ending had he walked into NXT Stand & Deliver as the champion but he couldn’t grab his chance last week.

Ciampa said he didn’t have any clue as to what could be a perfect ending to his story at NXT. However, he thanked each and everyone from the WWE Universe who rooted for him over the last 7 years.

As he was about to end the promo, Tony D’Angelo arrived with his crowbar.

Tony D’Angelo makes a statement

Tony D’Angelo entered the ring and told Tommaso Ciampa that he could have attacked him with his crowbar but he respected The Blackheart and wanted to face him like a man.

D’Angelo said he was thinking about how he could be “The Man” of NXT and how he can cement his place in the history books. He thought the best way to do that would be to face Ciampa, who has been the face of NXT for a while.

D’Angelo extended his hand and Ciampa shook it to confirm their match at NXT Stand & Deliver. The night, however, ended on a rough note for Ciampa as D’Angelo hit a low blow on him. The 26-year-old got in the face of Ciampa and said he would become the new Don of NXT.

Ciampa, in all likelihood, is headed to the main roster of WWE. He has been seen in a number of appearances recently on RAW during his feud with current NXT champion Dolph Ziggler.
