Braun Strowman was the biggest star who was a part of the recent WWE release
The WWE went about their usual roster cuts again. But this time, some of the names they decided to release were massive. Braun Strowman and Aleister Black were among the 6 superstars released by the WWE yesterday.
Hardly a month ago, Strowman was competing for the WWE title against Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania Backlash. ‘The Monster Among Men’s release came as a huge shock to everyone in the pro-wrestling world.
Following his release, Strowman took to Instagram to react to his release. He wrote, “What a chapter in life!!! #ThankYou.”
Veteran WWE wrestler and House of Hardcore founder Tommy Dreamer reacted to Strowman’s post, dropping a comment.
Dreamer clearly wasn’t convinced with the WWE releasing Strowman, as he asked Strowman to go ahead and flip the Titan Towers (WWE’s headquarters).
Dreamer’s comment read:
“Great picture. Just go & flip over Titan Towers duh.”
Dreamer had been an integral part of the WWE since 2001. He was a regular in the promotion until 2010, before founding his own promotion House of Hardcore in 2012. Since then he has made sporadic appearances in the WWE – 2012, 2015, 2016.
WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley who is still a part of the WWE, felt that Strowman should sign for some other big promotion like the AEW, unless he’s done with wrestling.
He also expressed his surprise at Strowman’s release.
Here’s what Foley had to say:
“The Strowman release is particularly surprising – but I’m guessing Braun can write his own ticket for anywhere he’d like to work. A fired up Strowman would seem like a can’t miss signing for @AEW.”
He followed it up with another tweet:
“I know Braun has spoken of never working for another company – but unless he’s set for life at age 37, he might want to explore his options.
AEW sure does seem like a great destination for Strowman, with rumours linking him with the promotion rife since mid-2020.
