Keith Lee seems to be one star that could have faced Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania if WWE did the right moves
WrestleMania 37 seems to have its two main events set up with Roman Reigns taking on Edge and Drew McIntyre also defending his title.
However, none of this is confirmed with Edge yet to decide who he faces at Mania. Many suggestions claim that Edge vs Reigns will happen while McIntyre’s opponent is yet to be decided.
However, the Scottish champion faces a tough task at the Elimination Chamber where he faces five other men. Sheamus won a gauntlet match to become the final entrant in the Elimination Chamber and that gives him a huge advantage.
The Irishman would be the most fresh entrant in that clash as he looks to take away McIntyre’s title. Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer were on the Busted Open podcast and opened up on whether Sheamus vs McIntyre should also take place at WrestleMania 37.
Ray asked if someone else could have taken Sheamus’ place and Dreamer had an interesting name, if things had gone the right way:
“Not on the Raw roster, no. Unless, they think they could have went with Keith Lee if they pushed him to the moon. But that kind of went the way side.
“I think they could have gone a bunch of different routes but looking at the Raw roster, Drew vs Sheamus makes the best sense for the title.”
Ray also added that Sheamus deserved the shot at Mania given all that he did since returning to the show. The Irishman is a former WWE Champion and hit out at WWE on Raw Talk with some suggesting he wasn’t a big enough name.
Sheamus deserves a WrestleMania moment too since he has been excellent in recent months. However, things could have been different for Lee.
He was made to be the next big thing on NXT but his Raw move hasn’t worked out well. There was a story of him being sent to the PC after a few issues on Raw but Lee has time on his side and could get a chance soon.
