Tony Nese takes hilarious dig at WWE and 205 Live after release

Tony Nese was part of the WWE release along with 12 Superstars

Tony Nese‘s release comes as a surprise after his exceptional matches on WWE 205 Live. Nese is remembered for his amazing match against Buddy Murphy.

He took to social media to open up after his release was confirmed saying:

“I love that my Mania moment left an impression on some of you. I suggest watching the rematch vs @WWE_Murphy from the 205live after. That was the match we really wanted to give you but weren’t allowed. Good thing is, no one in-house even watches 205 so we just did it then.”

The statement from Nese was a dig at WWE since he brought up how no one watched 205 Live.

205 Live featured WWE cruiserweights putting on a show, but this never felt right. The show would take place after SmackDown but it always felt like an unwanted child of WWE.

Nese and Murphy are two of the big wrestlers who are now free agents and will be hot signatures for rival companies. The 90-day no compete clause will have to expire for them to move to another company.

Nese also praised Adam Pearce for his work and dedication in WWE and wishes him well. Nese is a former WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

What next for Nese and Murphy?

The duo will be among the big names available to sign for other promotions. IMPACT Wrestling is the first promotion to offer a contract to Nese. He will weigh his options before he makes his in-ring return.

Murphy, meanwhile, was given a push on SmackDown with the feud between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio.

His wrestling skill has seen him impress lot of fans and Superstars, who wish him well before he moves to another promotion. Murphy will be considering a move to Tony Khan’s AEW after a mass exodus of WWE Superstars moving to the newly established brand.
