The Deadman Undertaker had one of the most remarkable careers in WWE history. He has been with the company for over 20 years and has delivered some of the greatest moments in the company’s history. Here are the top 5 best matches of Undertaker.
1.Undertaker vs Mankind, in Your House, Buried Alive (1996)
This match took place during one of the top feuds in WWE history between The Undertaker and Mankind. Mankind was undefeated against Taker until this match.
The match gave some of the greatest moments in the history of WWE, but the one which highlights it was Taker burying Mankind, and after he was declared the winner, he continued to bury him. But with the help of Paul Bearer and other superstars, Mankind made a comeback and buried The Phenom.
But as the match got over, a flash of lightning struck, and Taker’s hand popped out of the dirt, showing that he still did not “rest in peace.” It was probably one of Taker’s highlight matches, and it was heavily intense with blood, and the energy was fascinating.
2. Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar at No Mercy (2002)
The Undertaker took on the “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar in one of the most excellent Hell in a Cell match. However, Lesnar had his title on the line against Taker.
The Deadman had a broken hand but irrespective of that put on a fantastic match as he and Lesnar tore everything apart in one of the greatest matches of WWE. The match’s highlight was when Lesnar reversed the Tombstone Piledriver into an F-5. With this match, Lesnar made this statement clear that he is the next big thing in the company.
3. Undertaker vs Edge – WrestleMania XXIV
The Deadman headlined WrestleMania for the first time in 11 years at WrestleMania XXIV and challenged Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. It is considered one of the most underrated matches in WrestleMania history.
Undertaker proved with this match that he is one of the best, but Edge was not behind much and put on a tough fight and answered why he is a Hall of Famer. The Rated R Superstar gave a strong competition, and just when the streak was about to end, Undertaker did a comeback and made Edge tap out with a Hell’s Gate.
4. Undertaker vs Kurt Angle, No Way Out 2006
It is considered as one of the greatest matches of Undertaker even though Taker lost the match. It took place on No Way Out against Kurt Angle. Two of the all-time greats clashed for the World Heavyweight Championship. Many people suggest that this should have headlined WrestleMania.
With his sheer in-ring brilliance against Undertaker’s experience, Kurt Angle gave everything the fans in the arena were looking for. It always felt like a WrestleMania match as both the parties presented their best shot, and it probably holds the record for the most reversals in a game. However, Angle narrowly got away with the victory.
5. Undertaker vs HBK “Shawn Michaels” WrestleMania 25
Arguably one of the greatest WrestleMania matches ever, as these giants, Taker and HBK, met first at WrestleMania. This was a match for the ages at WrestleMania XXV.
Shawn Michaels delivered one of his best performances and stole the show at WrestleMania with some jaw-dropping, high-flying moves and almost broke The Phenom’s streak. It was epic. There was a moment when Taker did his trademark dive over the top rope and landed on his head. However, he recovered and extended his unbeaten streak to 17-0.
Undertaker even admitted that HBK was the best in-ring performer he has ever faced. It was arguably the most excellent match in WWE history and even got a rating of 9.65.
