WWE Superstars “are very excited” about Cody Rhodes coming back to the company
It was reported earlier that Cody Rhodes has officially signed with WWE and the current plan is for the former Intercontinental Champion to debut at WrestleMania 38 weekend. Rhodes has signed a WWE contract 10-14 days ago.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, he tweeted that he “spoke to many top WWE talent last month” who sounded “very excited” about Rhodes joining the company again.
There has been a rumour that Cody Rhodes will take on Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that the match was listed internally for the showcase of Immortals. He is expected to be part of the RAW brand.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, WWE plans for Rhodes to be at the RAW after WrestleMania 38 on Monday, April 4.
It has been noted in the report that WWE sources have indicated that there has been an internal discussion about flying Rhodes in private to avoid the publicity of him popping up at the airport before WrestleMania.
Cody has been very significant to AEW’s overall development and has started the company on its head along with Tony Khan. However, he and his wife Brandi left the company last month.
An unrestricted podcast shows Rhodes mentioning his wish to stay as the EVP of the company until he dies.
“I wanna stay an Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling, and I’ve told Tony [Khan] this until I die. This is where I, this is the end of my road. I can’t necessarily go back, the others can change, but I really can’t.” (h/t Sescoops)
