21-year old Gable Steveson of the United States has been unstoppable at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics so far
Gable Steveson is on a rampage right now. The Minnesota-based wrestler from the United States has been demolishing his opponents at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Steveson, who competes in the men’s 125kg freestyle wrestling, has coasted past his opponents, and has finally reached the final which is set to take place tomorrow.
The 21-year old took on Aiaal Lazarev of Kyrgyzstan in the Round of 16, thrashing him 10-0.
He then faced Taha Akgul of Turkey, the former champion in 125kg men’s wrestling freestyle. This time another annihilation — 8-0.
In the semi-finals Steveson squared off against Lkhagvagerel Munkhtur of Mongolia. The star wrestler once again blanked his opponent, scoring a 5-0 win.
He is all set to wrestle Geno Petriashvili in the finals for the Gold Medal. It will be taking place tomorrow.
Triple H was stunned by Gable Steveson’s performance. The WWE Superstar was particularly amazed at the ease with which Steveson beat former world champion Taha Akgul.
Triple H tweeted:
“10 points in 2min. 8-0 victory over reigning champ. Gold medal match next. Legends falling …. Legends being made…. @GableSteveson = MACHINE!! #TeamUSA #TokyoOlympics.”
On top of that, Steveson is just 21 years old and has a long way to go. His talent might see him end up in the WWE as well, just like the great Kurt Angle once did.
