Triple H has high praise for Bianca Belair ahead of WrestleMania 37 clash
Speaking to Tampa Bay Times, former WWE Champion Triple H has showered a lot of praise on SmackDown Superstar Bianca Belair ahead of her WrestleMania 37 clash.
Formerly a Track and Field athlete and a CrossFit competitor, Belair signed up for WWE in 2016 and has never looked back. She made her WrestleMania debut back in 2018, while she was still on NXT, participating in the Women’s Battle Royal.
At the same time she went on a tremendous 367-day unbeaten run on NXT, picking up wins against the likes of Lacey Evans, Dakota Kai, Candice LeRae among others, before the streak came to an end in January 2019 when she lost a title match to Shayna Baszler.
2020 saw her rise to further stardom as she made Royal Rumble debut, going on to eliminate a record eight competitors before being thrown out by the eventual winner Charlotte Flair. Having initially turned up on RAW, Belair was drafted to SmackDown in October last year.
The biggest moment of Belair’s WWE career came at Royal Rumble earlier this year when she eliminated former foe Rhea Ripley to win the over-the-top-rope event and earn herself a shot at the Women’s title. Having entered at #3, Belair lasted 56 minutes – a record for the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Triple H full of praise as Belair gets ready for WrestleMania
Belair is set to face off against WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks, at WrestleMania later this week.
Ahead of the biggest match of her career, Belair has been hailed by ex-WWE champion and current Executive Vice President of Global Talent and Strategy and Development, Triple H.
“When she came in and tried out for us, I don’t know that she knew necessarily what we were. She came in and was just this crazy stud athlete. And then you see she’s just an amazing person and that charisma shines through.”
“Very shortly after she got with us, I was like, ‘It’s going to take a bit of time for her to learn to do this, but once she does, there’s no ceiling here.’ She’s got every tool. She’s got everything available, is humble, is hungry. And she’s going to be exactly what she’s becoming now, one of the biggest stars we’ve ever seen.”
WrestleMania 37 goes down this Saturday and Sunday at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Will Belair walk out with a title on her first singles appearance on the Showcase of the Immortals? Not long before we find out.
