Timothy Thatcher showed why he was the master of the fight pit on this week’s NXT
This Wednesday’s WWE NXT had a pretty good match card. The most intriguing match, though, was the fight pit bout between NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa and Fight Pit master Timothy Thatcher.
Thatcher, who was masterful in his first display against Matt Riddle, shoed his amazing technical skills in this match as well. In fact, the fight was perfectly picked to sell this new event,
Both Ciampa and Thatcher are immensely skilled, and the Blackheart held his own against the technical master Thatcher. The latter had complete control over the fight in the starting and middle stages.
Ciampa only crawled his way back into the fight by dealing a low-blow. The Blackheart hit Thatcher with the Fairytale Ending and set up a submission. Thatcher, however, had other plans.
Timothy Thatcher makes a comeback to secure another Fight Pit win
He quickly made his way out of what looked the submission that would end the fight, and trapped Ciampa’s injured leg in the steel cage.
He stretched it with force and eventually made Ciampa tap-out for an impressive victory which had the NXT founder Triple H excited.
Hunter shared on Twitter praising the wrestler’s performance. He added that this fight needed two things, which Thatcher displayed for the second-match running.
“A match unlike any other requires an different move set … and entirely different mind set. For the second time, Timothy Thatcher displays both. #Respect#WWENXT#FightPit“
The Gold Brand has done a great job at selling this unique event which they aim to make one of their own original match types.
Thatcher seems like he will be the face of this match-type going forward as he seems unbeatable inside that pit.
