Dakota Kai became an accessory in the Rhea Ripley vs Raquel Gonzalez fight on NXT

Rhea Ripley squared off against Raquel Gonzalez in a last woman standing match at this week’s WWE NXT special New Year’s Evil.

The fight turned out to be one of the best that the women’s division has ever seen on the Gold brand. Both started out in vicious fashion and Gonzalez hit a new version of the three amigos, which the fans loved to see.

Following this, Ripley beat Raquel with a kendo stick, but the former NXT Women’s Champion took the steel steps to her face shortly after. Later, Ripley tied Gonzalez to the barricades.

This proved to be just a minor inconvenience for Gonzalez who ripped off the steel mesh to free herself. The two then took the fight backstage, which we all know is a setting which rarely ever disappoints.

Dakota Kai ended up being locked in a locker during the fight

Shortly after, Gonzalez’s tag team partner and friend Dakota Kai rushed in to attack Ripley with a kendo stick. However, she was locked into a locker by the Ripley in what looked like a scary scenario.

The match went on for a while with brutal beating being inflicted on both the wrestlers. The fight finally came to an end when Raquel Gonzalez delivered her trademark one-armed powerbomb.

This time it was a little different. She executed it off the steps and through the stage, leaving both down and out for a while. However, Raquel made her way out first and won the match.

Triple H, almost jokingly, posted a tweet asking someone to go check on Kai who was still probably locked in the small locker.

This epic fight should really elevate Gonzalez’s status within the promotion and there can be only good things waiting for the 29-year-old in her WWE career.
