Could we see Finn Balor vs Conor McGregor on WWE?
WWE NXT champion Finn Balor posted a picture of 3 figurines inside a scaled-down toy version of a WWE ring. Innocent enough.
But it has sparked a chain of events that has really excited the WWE and UFC fanbase. The figurines were that of Balor himself, UFC lightweight fighter Conor McGregor, and NXT founder Triple H.
Makes sense, as both Balor and McGregor are from Ireland. But, ‘The Notorious One’ quoted the photo and replied “No more mr. nice guy!”, indicating that he’s up for a fight.
This unsurprisingly excited Triple H, who replied to McGregor’s tweet saying “Just say when.” Crazier things have happened on WWE before, and this is still a possible scenario.
Just to name a very few, stars like Floyd Mayweather Jr., Bad Bunny, and Rob Gronkowski have all made appearances on the show. And UFC stars like Ronda Rousey and Matt Riddle have even gone on to make a career in the promotion!
But what next for Conor McGregor and Finn Balor?
‘The Irish Captor’ has been busy on NXT after being crowned the champion when he beat Adam Cole at NXT: Super Tuesday II last year.
His rivalry with Cole continues but he could have a title fight against Karion Kross at WrestleMania 37. As for the former UFC double champ, he is looking at a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.
The two men fought it out at UFC 257 where the Irishman came out second best. He is now looking all set to take on ‘The Diamond’ in another rematch.
But it doesn’t mean he won’t have time to make an appearance or two in WWE. Balor and McGregor are also not alien to each other and collaboration between them on WWE is within the realm of being a possibility.
