Trish Stratus opens up on her children watching controversial WWE storylines
Speaking on the Busted Open Podcast, Trish Stratus has shared how she plans to deal with her children watching the controversial angles she was involved in during her WWE days.
Trish Stratus is an icon in WWE and the pro-wrestling world. A seven-time WWE Women’s Champion, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame and was more recently named the Greatest Women’s Wrestler of All Time.
A pioneer for women’s wrestling, Stratus was involved in some controversial storylines in the early parts of her WWE career – from managing Test and Albert (T & A), to her on-screen affair with Mr. McMahon.
After she put an end to that McMahon storyline, Trish would turn face and go on to scale great heights in the promotion before retiring in 2006.
Trish continues to make appearances every now and then on WWE and was most recently involved in a match vs Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam in 2019.
Trish has two children – Maximus and Madison – who are just seven and four years old respectively. And, she was quizzed on how she planned to explain her controversial storylines in WWE to her children when they would watch it.
“Well, I guess I haven’t really thought too much about it, thanks, I’ll start that now. I mean, he’s just too young right now, Max’s just seven, he doesn’t even watch wrestling.
“It will be a conversation, he knows that I do my job on television. He understands acting, he understands a lot of things. So I think it’s just a matter of sort of over the years building up to establishing what’s it all about – the entertainment industry. And I’ll deal with it when we get there.”
She may have been involved in some sketchy angles early in her career. But Stratus grew past that and became a WWE legend. She is an inspiration to many established stars on the current WWE roster as well as many other up-and-coming athletes.
