WWE yet to provide injury update on Edge after brutal Seth Rollins attack

Edge was sent to the hospital but there has been no update from WWE regarding his injury

Edge and Seth Rollins squared off in a hard fought battle this week at WWE SmackDown. As it was being said by the commentators, Rollins was targeting Edge’s neck which has suffered in the past. Rollins found a weak spot and kept on attacking it.

During the match The Architect would even go on to do Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix’s finisher on him. Rollins eventually got the better of Edge and won the match. After the match was over Edge laid in the ring unmoved. A stretcher was called out and Edge was sent to the hospital.

Rollins reacted after the match saying maybe he doesn’t feel anything at all. This showed that Rollins was in fact numb to the fact that he had just sent a WWE Hall of Famer to the hospital. WWE’s twitter was later flooded by the videos of Edge being carried out.

Edge’s history with neck injuries

Edge has had a history with neck injuries. His first injury dates back to 2003 when he fell through a ladder in a match. From then on he underwent surgery to fix his neck. His neck would never properly heal because he was putting it on the line so much.

In 2011 Edge was forced to retire because of his neck injury. He was medically uncleared to fight and if he did he could’ve risked getting lower body paralysis. He later underwent a triple fusion neck surgery to fix his neck.

Edge is carried out of the ring after an attack by Seth Rollins (WWE)

No one expected to see Edge fight ever again but in 2020 he made his unexpected return. This past week on SmackDown he suffered an injury on his neck and was sent to hospital. We also await an actual report from the WWE to know how serious it was.

We hope that it was not the last time we saw Edge compete in the ring.
