Vince McMahon is not pleased with Keith Lee
A few weeks back, WWE chairman Vince McMahon shocked the WWE Universe after demoting Keith Lee to the Performance Center.
Lee is one of the rising stars on WWE who has gradually gained immense popularity amongst wrestling fans.
He made a name for himself on NXT Survivor Series last year and even had a high-profile match against Roman Reigns shortly after.
Despite changing his get-up and entrance music, McMahon deemed something was still still lacking.
Hence, Lee, alongside other stars such as Otis, was sent down to the WWE Performance Center in order to further hone his skills.
This issue was raised by former WWE superstar Bully Ray on the latest episode of the Busted Open Podcast.
Bully Ray started out by outright declaring that Vince McMahon was not fond of Keith Lee when it came to his in-ring game.
“Vince is looking at Keith Lee in a much different way. I don’t think Vince is a fan of Keith Lee’s [in-ring] style.”
Ray mentioned that Lee had the “advantage” at NXT of working around wrestlers that were much smaller than him. He said that they could “fly around him and sell his size”.
However, the 8-time WWE World Tag Team Champion believes that this will not work on the main roster. He says that other wrestlers can’t “work around him” and he himself will have to raise his game.
Bully Ray exclaimed how he had gone from beating Randy Orton at PayBack to where he is now, and said that there was only one man who was capable of taking this decision.
“We have seen a regression with Keith Lee, in his positioning and where they have used him.”
Host Dave Lagreca pitched in and said that Keith Lee must mould himself into what Vince McMahon’s vision of him is. And if fans want to see the Keith Lee that was on NXT, they’ll have to wait till he leaves WWE.
“You’re never going to get the Keith Lee you got on NXT on Monday Night RAW. He’s going to have to adjust to what Vince McMahon wants to see. And if you want to the Keith Lee that was on NXT, you’re going to have to wait until his contract is up and he goes elsewhere.”
