Vince McMahon wanted to give managerial role to Adam Cole
We reported earlier that WWE offered a managerial role to Adam Cole before his departure. Well, there has been more clarity brought to the situation.
It is further revealed that either Vince McMahon or Bruce Prichard came up with the idea, according to Wrestling Observer Radio‘s Dave Meltzer:
“The idea came from either WWE Chairman Vince McMahon or WWE head writer Bruce Prichard. I heard from one source that it was McMahon’s idea”
It is almost certain that McMahon wanted to utilize Cole’s on the mic skills and also his persona in something different than wrestling.
Cole did not appreciate the idea and wanted to continue wrestling so he chose not to re-sign and move away from the company.
Well, It is a good news for Wrestling fans that Cole chose to not do that. He will continue performing in the ring under the AEW promotion which he joined recently also Cole will mark his first match at AEW against Frankie Kazarian this week. Fans are excited to see him perform at AEW,
Who’s manager Adam Cole could’ve been?
Vince McMahon wanted to make the former WWE star the manager of Keith Lee. Keith Lee’s character had a shift recently. He was turned into a heel so WWE thought that this will be a good opportunity to make Cole his manager. Keith Lee currently performs under the Raw brand of WWE.
Cole’s contract expired in August and if he were to re-sign he would’ve been sent to Raw as Keith Lee’s manager. He made his first AEW appearance on the same night also as his former WWE colleague Daniel Bryan did.
