Vince McMahon once told The Great Khali to ‘kill’ The Undertaker
Speaking on Rewind, Recap and Relive (h/t News 18), WWE Hall of Famer The Great Khali has revealed that Vince McMahon once told him to ‘kill The Undertaker hard’.
The Great Khali is undoubtedly the biggest Indian name in WWE. He made his debut for the pro-wrestling giants in 2006 and found himself inserted into a feud straightaway with the legendary Undertaker.
A one-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, The Great Khali made his debut by attacking The Undertaker when the Deadman was facing Mark Henry on SmackDown. And the Punjabi Playboy has opened up how his first TV appearance for WWE came about.
Khali opened up on how Vince McMahon asked him to come down to the shoots after WrestleMania without revealing what plans he had for him. Then, The Great Khali would learn from Michael Hayes that he would be attacking Taker.
“Vince said, ‘I want to debut you’ but he didn’t say who is my opponent. He gives me a call and says, ‘come to TV after WrestleMania.’ The same day, Michael Hayes said, ‘You have a big day. You need to go out during Mark Henry and fighting and you need to ‘Kill The Undertaker.’ I was so happy.”
“He tried to explain and Vince said, ‘Yes! Kill him hard! Not easy.’ That moment was really great. All the world knew who was Great Khali. I want to thank Vince McMahon and WWE for making Great Khali. I appreciate Vince McMahon and WWE.”
The Great Khali would then go on to defeat The Undertaker in their match at Judgement Day PPV before eventually facing defeat to the Deadman in a Last Man Standing match at SummerSlam later that year.
