Kofi Kingston created history by defeating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35 for the WWE Championship

Kofi Kingston will go down as one of the greatest WWE stars from the modern era of the promotion.

The Ghana-born star created history by picking up the WWE title from Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35.

Kingston was originally billed from Jamaica but took up his Ghanaian roots later on in his WWE career. The New Day member battled hard against the odds to get a shot against Bryan at WM 35.

He was able to beat several stars to get the shot and made it count by winning the title at the grandest stage of them all.

Kingston became the first Africa-born wrestler to lift the title, and this was also one of the greatest stories in the history of WWE.

Vince McMahon, who caused a lot of pain to Kingston by constantly denying him the title shot, was one of the first to wish him on his latest birthday.

McMahon is right in suggesting that Kingston had done a lot to inspire fans, and it was there for all to see at WrestleMania.

The reaction from the fans leading up to WrestleMania was incredible. This was one of the most organic backings a star had ever received in WWE history and it was still not a guarantee that Kingston would be able to beat Bryan.

The New Day celebrated wildly as Kingston won the title and he did a great job of keeping hold of the title.

Kingston, however, lost the title to Brock Lesnar later on but continued winning tag titles with the New Day.

While Kingston hasn’t been close to the singles title since then, he will still go down as one of the greatest stories in WWE history.

Kingston proved that hard work and talent does lead to success, and him winning the title was an incredible moment for all WWE fans.
