Walter has been dominating the WWE NXT UK stage for quite a long time
Walter has carved a name for himself, after becoming the longest reigning NXT UK champion in the history of the WWE.
Having made his debut only in January 2019, at NXT UK Takeover in Blackpool, he won the WWE UK Championship in no time, beating Peter Dunne at NXT Takeover: New York.
There was no looking back after that for the Austrian, a string of successful title defenses, change in the name of the title to NXT UK Championship, setting the record for the longest reigning NXT UK Champion, he has seen it all.
He beat Dunne’s record of 685 days as the champion, earlier this year in February. It looks like WALTER will not stop for quite a while.
The 32-year old recently named two top wrestlers he would like to face in the future.
Speaking to Corey Graves on After the Bell, Walter named Daniel Bryan and Cesaro as the two wrestlers he would like to take on.
He was quoted as saying:
“When I first got into watching other wrestling, I was watching Ring of Honor. A lot of those guys are the top guys in WWE right now. Daniel Bryan is a match I would want to do. Obviously, Cesaro. Never work with (Cesaro). He’s a great role model for all of us German-speaking talent. He’s always been super supportive. As soon as we stepped foot in WWE, he reached his hand out to all of us. He’s a fantastic wrestler.” [via Fightful.com]
Walter was scheduled to face Finn Balor but the bout was cancelled
Finn Balor is the current NXT Champion, and Walter was very much interested in facing the ‘Irish Captor’.
The fight was planned for WWE NXT UK Takeover : Dublin, in Balor’s own backyard, but the event was postponed initially due to COVID, before being cancelled.
However, Walter would very well welcome a fight against Balor, as he looks to capture big names and carve a niche for himself.
