Murphy open on his experience of working with Seth Rollins on WWE
During a Fan Q&A on Instagram, WWE Superstar Muprhy has opened up on his experience of working with Seth Rollins.
Murphy, who has been with WWE since 2013, was pushed to the main roster in mid-2019. After doing little of note in his first few months, the Australian was involved a hard-hitting feud with Aleister Black.
Having repeatedly failed to come out on top, a despairing Murphy ended up joining forces with Seth Rollins in January last year, becoming the Monday Night Messiah’s latest disciple, alongside the AOP.
The pair would eventually go on to win the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship’s enjoying a 42-day reign before losing the belts to the Street Profits.
Following that an extended rivalry with Rey Mysterio and his family ensued before Rollins would attack Murphy after he cost the Messiah a win in two matches. At the same time there was a budding romance angle with Mysterio’s daughter Aalyah.
Following their switch to SmackDown, the feud continued before Murphy would eventually turn on Rollins and defeat him on the Blue Brand in November, bringing an end to the storyline.
Murphy on working with Rollins
Having been aligned with Rollins for almost a year, Murphy was asked by a fan about the experience of working with him. The Australian wrestler went on to describe it as a learning experience for him, insisting that it was an honour to work alongside Seth.
“Amazing! Taught me so much! Picking his brain was such an honor! I would always suggest ideas to see what his thoughts were and how he processed into story telling. I felt that I took a lot from him that I can implement into my craft.”
Following their split, there was no development on the Aalyah angle as Murphy was written off television. He recently returned on SmackDown prior to WrestleMania and offered Rollins his help to defeat Cesaro, only to be snubbed by the former WWE champion.
It remains to be seen what WWE have in store for Murphy going forward.
