WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes gets slapped in the face at the 2022 ESPY Awards
‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes has been making headlines since his return at WWE WrestleMania 2022. He has faced Seth Rollins in a trilogy bout which he won on every occasion. However, during the build-up to their third bout, he suffered a pectoral injury and is currently out of action.
The former AEW Star attended the 2022 ESPY Awards as his return to the Stamford-based promotion was nominated for the Best WWE Moment of the year. Recently while speaking to Gary Streiwski of ESPN, the two did the famous tortilla face slap Tik Tok challenge together.
During the challenge, Cody is seen smacked by the ESPN anchor Gary by the tortilla.

Cody Rhodes wins ESPY award for Best WWE moment of the year
It can be said that 2022 has been one of the best years of Cody Rhodes’ wrestling career. First, he made an emphatic return at WrestleMania 38 and defeated Seth Freakin Rollins.
Now Rhodes has won the Best WWE Moment at ESPY 2022. He defeated the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker to win the said accolade. Last year this award was won by Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair for their iconic WrestleMania main event.
Rhodes took to Twitter and shared his achievement. He posted a picture with his wife Brandi Rhodes as well.
It will be interesting to see when and where the former Intercontinental Champion make his return to the squared circle as he recovers from injury.
