Io Shirai is one of the top stars on NXT
NXT star Io Shirai shared a video of her performing a fabulous triple suplex on an opponent on Twitter.
After missing a few months due to injury, Shirai has made a big splash upon her return to NXT.
Shirai, who’s been out since injuring her leg against Toni Storm in January, has been huge since returning to NXT four week ago.
She took out Xia Li backstage to steal her place in a qualifier for the Number One Contender’s Ladder Match, then demolished Aliyah in the ring to punch her ticket into the ladder match.
She also outlasted Mia Yim, Chelsea Green, Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, and Tegan Nox in a wild ladder match to cement her position as the top contender to new NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
While Shirai is one of the best women in the business, we haven’t seen this move from her regularly in WWE.
The Japanese star certainly is capable of great things in the ring, and this triple suplex looks like a work of art.
She did have a great match against Flair but the Champion got herself disqualified. Charlotte got frustrated at not being able to get the better of Shirai and hit her with a kendo stick.
The Queen then tried to injure her opponent after the DQ but Rhea Ripley came out to make the save.
Shirai and Flair also tweeted that they were open to facing off again, and it will be interesting to see what happens next.
Ripley was the former NXT Women’s Champion. However, she is yet to receive her rematch after losing the title at WrestleMania 36.
