Drew McIntyre was speaking about facing AJ Styles sometime in his WWE career

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre took out a lot of time to speak with several reporters recently. Inside the Ropes shared the entire interview on their YouTube channel and there were some interesting topics discussed.

McIntyre was asked about his return to WWE, how he could face Jinder Mahal and what it felt like after winning the title.

Another interesting question was who McIntyre wanted to face from the current roster. McIntyre spoke about another former champion in AJ Styles and highlighted how the pair always seem to miss out on a clash:

“Guess, I’ll always say its AJ Styles. It happened again, I don’t know what the deal is with him and I. We are always like ships in the night, we keep missing each other.”

McIntyre spoke about him leaving WWE and joining Impact and Styles did the opposite as he left other promotions to come to WWE.

“He comes back to WWE, I come back to WWE. We are both on Raw, but are both bad guys. Finally, I am a good guy, he is a bad guy, it’s going to happen, he disappears to SmackDown. So I guess we will have to wait for that match.”

NXT star on the list too

McIntyre had another big name on his mind when it came to fighting someone from NXT. The WWE Champion said there were many names but the one he fixated on was Adam Cole.

The current NXT Champion is the longest-reigning one, but McIntyre hinted there was unfinished business with Cole. McIntyre also said that the Undisputed Era also played a role in their rivalry, and claimed there was more to come between them.

Cole is still on NXT and he should be set for a move to Raw or SmackDown soon with the Undisputed Era.

Styles, for his part, is on SmackDown and it will be interesting to see if we ever get a McIntyre vs Styles clash.
