Stone Cold Steve Austin making his return to WWE Raw was one of the biggest talking points from last night’s show.
The Texas Rattlesnake is still one of the best WWE wrestlers ever to have graced the promotion and continues to be a loved legend.
Austin was also responsible for coining the 3:16 phrase/day when he participated in a King of the Ring tournament.
Although that day wasn’t 16 March, the 3:16 has been celebrated every year on this day. This time it was a little different as there was no crowd on this WWE show.
SmackDown was held in front of an empty Performance Center and the same was done on Raw too.
That might have toned down the effect of Austin’s return, but he was still incredible during his brief appearance.
The first segment saw him speak about what 3:16 meant and also some phrases. Since there was no crowd in the arena, it was left to Byron Saxton to do some grading.
The WWE commentator actually didn’t have a lot of great words for Austin, but the Texas Rattlesnake took Saxton out.
He offered the commentator a beer, something that he always does, but brought out the stunners too.
Saxton flew after receiving the first one and then it was time for Becky Lynch to appear too. The Raw Women’s champion actually stepped over Saxton and celebrated with the legend.
This almost felt like the passing of the baton as Lynch drank beers with Austin. Saxton did get time to recover but was hit by another stunner by the Texas Rattlesnake.
Raw might have gone off air after Saxton got his second stunner but the party continued long after.
Raw shared what happened as the show went off the air, and it saw the Street Profits come dancing down the ramp.
The Raw tag team champions came out to celebrate with Austin and Lynch, and the Texas Rattlesnake also offered them beers.
However, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford didn’t have a lot of time to celebrate. They both were hit by stunners and Stone Cold Steve Austin went wild on his Raw return.
Austin even joked with Dawkins that his first stunner had slipped out and he was alright with the other champion before giving him a stunner too.
Lynch wasn’t done though as she hit a semi-conscious Saxton with a stunner before Austin hit the groggy tag champs with a pair too.
The segment ended with Lynch celebrating wildly and Austin drowning himself in beer.
Raw might not have been all that great without the fans this week, but the 3:16 day celebrations on Austin’s return certainly brought out a few chuckles.
