Wrestling Legend appears after WWE NXT 2.0 went off-air

WWE NXT New Year’s Evil saw Bron Breakker defeating Tommaso Ciampa to become the NXT Champion in only the ninth televised match of his WWE career at New Year’s Evil.

Rick Steiner was in the house for last night’s unique New Year episode of WWE NXT 2.0, joining his son Bron Breakker in the ring following his main event triumph. This was the first time Rick has been in a WWE ring since the early 90s.

Breakker once said that his father was initially supposed to be in the audience for his first match with Ciampa, but Rick pulled out. This seems to be a positive approach towards establishing a relationship between the Steiner family in WWE.

The Big man looked to dominate the game early, but ‘The Blackheart’ began ducking the rookie while hitting a big dropkick and corkscrew plancha. Breakker bounced back into the match with a spinebuster and standing moonsault for two.

‘The Blackheart’ caught Breakker between the legs with the rope and hit two running knees into the Fairy Tale Ending in a crazy near fall. The two fought on the second rope and hit a bulldog to Ciampa. In the end, he locked in the Steiner Recliner for a tap out.

He became the new NXT Champion in his just ninth outing at WWE. Afterwards, Ciampa gave approval to the young star earning his win.
