CJ Perry made a name for herself after she debuted in WWE managing the “Bulgarian Brute” Rusev (currently known as Miro in AEW). She was in WWE under the ring name Lana.
Lana and Rusev started as heels. Rusev’s gimmick was that of a Russophile, anti-American that saw him announced as having relocated to Russia. Rusev’s first pinfall loss came at WrestleMania 31 and this was after he had already completed a year on the main roster.
Lana and Rusev tied the knot on July 29, 2016. They reside in Nashville Tennessee. Lana has also acted in a few films and worked as a backup dancer, a model, and a singer.
Lana also wrestled in WWE and had a babyface run that saw fans cheering for her. Her wrestling skills weren’t polished but Lana’s in-ring exploits mostly comprised of her never-say-die attitude.
She had a major feud with Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Jax even Samoan dropped her every week on RAW through the announcer’s table and this continued for several weeks.
Lana also dated former American football player Isaiah Mustafa before her love story with Rusev began. She was released from WWE last year after an eight-year-long stint.
Lana has multiple upcoming Television projects
As mentioned previously, Lana has featured in a few movies and shows before her WWE stint. After her release, she has once again focused on her acting career.
CJ Perry is currently busy shooting for a movie called Trail Blazers which will most likely release later in the year.
Trail Blazers is set in the desert of New Mexico. Other members of the cast are RJ Mitte, Lorenzo Lamas, Michael Pare, Antonio Sabato Jr., Aaron Schwartz, Deana Martin, and a few others. Perry posted a picture from the sets of Trail Blazers last month where she was celebrating her birthday.
She also acted in the Sci-fi/Action movie named Cosmic Sin which was released last year.
