John Laurinaitis is a retired professional wrestler. What is his role of him in WWE?
John Hodge Laurinaitis, aka Johnny Ace, is a former professional wrestler. He has formerly wrestled for many promotions such as WCW, All Japan Pro Wrestling, and WWE.
Currently, he works as the head of talent relations. He worked in this position for eight years and as an occasional professional wrestler from 2011 until 2012. John also worked as a producer, and before joining WWE, Laurinaitis worked as an executive for WCW.
Last year he returned to this position of talent relations. Before him, Jim Ross was the Head of Talent Relations until 2004 and when he stepped down from the position. John was also the RAW general manager in his on-screen WWE role for a while.
In the late 80s, he and his brother Marc wrestled as a tag team for Florida Championship Wrestling. During his tenure, Laurinaitis didn’t have any such big matches in singles or tags. But he went up against one of the biggest stars of this generation Mark Callous aka The Undertaker.
At Capital Combat 1990, Laurinaitis showed off some high flying moves, resulting in him earning “boring” chants from the crowd. After some time, John faced Ric Flair at a WCW Main Event show.
Laurinaitis wrestled for All Japan Pro Wrestling from 1990-to 2000 and earned most of the notches of his belt there. In 1991, he won the Korakuen Hall Heavyweight Battle Royal. He also won a six-man tag team match capturing the AJPW All-Asia Tag Team Championship twice, and the AJPW Unified Tag Titles four times.
