WWE Superstar Gunther opens up about the reason behind his sudden weight loss
WWE Superstar Gunther recently addressed the rumors surrounding his weight loss. Also, he opened up about if WWE forced him to shred down his physique or not.
The former NXT Superstar has dominated WWE with his size and stature. However, it was reported that WWE wanted him to lose weight and slim down. But during a recent interview with Sport1 in Germany, Gunther stated that he decided to lose weight.
Gunther mentioned that it was ultimately his own initiative. However, he also said that he must present more to the general public.
“It was completely my own initiative. For me, it was quite clear — if I want to take the next big step, I have to present more for the general public. Personally, I’ve always been a big fan of old-school Japanese wrestlers who still had a belly and looked like you’d imagine a butcher. Emulating such idols worked for me also because up to now, I’ve been there for the, let’s call it, hardcore wrestling audience.” (H/T EWrestling News)
Gunther wins the Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown.
Former NXT Champion Gunther captured his first main roster title last night on SmackDown. Ricochet put his title on the line against Gunther for the first time in WWE. It was a hard-hitting bout. Ricochet won the title several months ago by defeating Sami Zayn on SmackDown.
Gunther was accompanied by Ludwig Kaiser as he defeated Ricochet to become the new IC Champion. He also extended his unbeaten streak by winning the bout. . Since his arrival on the show, he has been unbeaten. The Ring General is a former NXT United Kingdom Champion and holds the record for 870 days, which is one of the longest championship reigns.
