John Morrison is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion. But where is Morrison now?

Morrison was a contracted performer from 2002 to 2011 and then again made his return after nine years in January 2020, and just two months into his return, he and The Miz won the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. But unfortunately for him, within just a year, he was released by WWE on November 18, 2021, as a part of budget cuts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the end of his non-compete clause with WWE, which ended in February 2022, he returned to AAA on February 19,2022, as Johnny Superstar, where he challenged El Hijo del Vikingo at Rey de Reyes.

Morisson is currently at Game Changer Wrestling, where he made his debut on March 31. 2022 at the Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8, defeating Simon Gotch. He wrestled as “Johnny Caballero” the following day at GCW’s Wrld on Lucha event, defeating Jack Cartwheel.

He is a former three-time Intercontinental Champion and was a six-time WWE Tag Team Champion. Morisson is known for his incredible high flying moves and natural charisma. Nicknamed as “Guru of Greatness.” John has used 11 different names in several promotions: John Hennigan (his real name), John Morrison, Johnny Blackcraft, Johnny Blaze, Johnny Impact, Johnny Nitro, Johnny Onyx, Johnny Spade, and Johnny Ultra.

After his release, he posted a video on Instagram where he spoke about his release and also thanked fans for their support in his second run with WWE. He also joked about John Laurinaitis.

“Aquaholics, JoMosapiens, Johntourage, Slamtonians, I want you all to know how grateful I am for the support you gave me during this past run with WWE. I also want you to know that I did, in fact, receive a phone call from John Laurinaitis, during which he told me that my services as a talent were no longer required by WWE. I didn’t even get a ‘Best of luck in your future endeavors.’ I mean, if you’re gonna let me go, at least hit your catchphrase, right?” (H/T Fightful)
