WWE’s announcer Samantha Irvin promoted to SmackDown Ring Announcer
Samantha Irvin is officially the new ring announcer for SmackDown on FOX, which means Mike Rome is now replaced as the blue brand ring announcer.
SmackDown’s former ring announcer Greg Hamilton was released by WWE, so the company brought Raw’s Mike Rome to serve as the blue brand’s interim ring announcer.
Now WWE 205 Live’s ring announcer Samantha Irvin has called up to fill the position on a long-term basis.
She took to Twitter and expressed her emotions regarding the position. “Honored” and excited for the post.
“Honoured, blessed, and oh, so excited to be your new Friday Night Smackdown Ring Announcer! #Smackdown“
“It’s a dream come true”, Irvin told her SmackDown broadcast colleague Megan Morant during a backstage interview.
“Literally, it is a dream come true. I’m over the moon. I can’t believe it.”
Samantha Irvin has praised WWE veteran Michael Cole
Irvin has expressed her excitement and praised WWE veteran announcer Michael Cole for supporting her throughout her journey, and now all she wants is to announce at SmackDown.
“Michael Cole has been so supportive,” Irvin said. “Everyone’s been supportive, and they’ve made me feel like this is where I belong, and just to be myself, and to have fun, and do what I’ve always wanted to do, which is to announce here at the WWE for Friday Night SmackDown.”
In April last year, Irvin was hired by WWE and reported for duty at the WWE Performance Center to serve as the ring announcer for 205 Live. She also performed on Season 10 of America’s Got Talent.
